Histon Cricket Club has been chosen as a focus club by Cambridgeshire Cricket Board, adopting the ECB's Safe Hands policy and appointing / training a Welfare Officer. It is fully committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment in which to play the finest game in the world.
The club's 1st XI is probably the best amateur team in the region, with no paid professionals, playing in the Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Premier League. The 2nd XI plays in the Cambridgeshire Cricket Association Senior League and the 3rd XI and 4th XI in the Junior League.
The cricket square is maintained by a full-time groundsman who also happens to be the Club Captain, resulting in a superb batting wicket which also offers assistance to bowlers who are prepared to bend their back, crank their wrist or even flex their elbow by up to 20 degrees.
On Saturday evenings all four senior teams congregate at the nearby Railway Vue watering hole.
New members are always welcome at Histon Cricket Club, whatever their age or playing ability.
